Seiko Sea Urchin SNZF15K1

Commonly recognized as the bond on a tight budget watch, the Seiko Sea Urchin might deceive onlookers from afar.

In terms of finish, I personally feel that this watch is extremely well done from the glossy dial to the nicely sized markers. To compliment that glossy dial, it has Seiko Sumo hands! Really love the look of those hands.

However, be warned, pull the trigger on this one only if you feel that you not looking for a watch for diving or keeping time as accurate as possible.

Let me explain. First and foremost, the Seiko sea urchin DOES NOT HAVE A SCREW LOCK CROWN. That fundamentally means that it is not as water resistant as most divers out in the market, for example, the SKX007.

Secondly, it has a 7S36 movement which is a 7S26 with 2 additional jewels to reduce friction. Sure, its a powerhouse but the accuracy is around +20/-40 seconds a day. It will serve you in a long run but you are going to have to tweak the time on your piece fairly often.

Other than that, this watch is an entry level diver that delivers stunning finishes and classy looks.

I got this from Lazda.com.sg for about 160SGD. Pretty decent price as expected from the Seiko sports 5 collection. Not in the most ideal kind of watch packaging as the box is too small to even put in the Seiko manual.

If you're looking for a diver to go desk diving, this is the piece you have been looking for.
